Version 8.6 - styling options, improved UI, image bank search

Proudly announcing the latest release of ResourceSpace, version 8.6, including a revamped look and feel with even more customisation options, improved security and remote image bank search, and many other new features and enhancements.

The user interface enhancements continue with multiple style changes to simplify, modernise and refresh ResourceSpace. Following customer feedback, you can now choose custom colours for text, dash tiles, simple search and the collection bar, and the system wide font can be changed. The preview image is now larger to make reviewing resources easier before downloading, and the layout has been improved. We've also added a new PDF viewer so users can read full PDF documents in-browser with zoom capability and free text search.

Image bank search functionality has been added to allow stock image galleries to be searched from within ResourceSpace. Assets found can be downloaded to the ResourceSpace system to encourage reuse. For this initial release, Pixabay is supported, with more to follow in the next release, version 9.0. We are focussing on open/free image banks initially but will be adding support for Shutterstock, Getty Images, and others in the near future.

We have also added additional functionality to assist our customers with the latest GDPR legislation. In this release is a new cookies notification plugin which shows a cookie consent message in the header. If required, consent can be requested from the user before they proceed to use the system. We've also added a consent request to the user registration form.

We are pleased to announce that Google Cloud Vision can now leverage AI automated tagging for your existing assets in addition to new uploads.
