ResourceSpace has changed the way the DEC uses content, making it much easier for us to quickly make assets available both internally and externally during our emergency appeals.
Back in July, we announced that ResourceSpace was fully integrated with Adobe software via LinkrUI - the best-in-class connector that allows you to directly search for, open, and place your ResourceSpace material into Adobe applications as well as uploading into ResourceSpace from your Adobe platform.
Following this exciting development, the LinkrUI integration has now been expanded to include Microsoft Office. The LinkrUI for Microsoft Office connector enables direct searching in ResourceSpace, plus opening and placing of resources into Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Similar to the Adobe connector, LinkrUI for Microsoft Office is easy to set up. First, you’ll need to install LinkrUI as an add-in to your Microsoft app through the Microsoft marketplace: it’ll appear as a panel within your app. The LinkrUI panel will display your resources as they’re organised within ResourceSpace. You can change how to view your resources, as well as search for specific ones. The panel menu has more options too, including uploading new resources and setting preferences.
The resource thumbnails have a dropdown menu, ready to place resources straight into your Office project. LinkrUI can even convert file types on-the-fly, so that you can add in resources that wouldn’t otherwise be compatible in Microsoft Office. Your finished Microsoft document can also be saved back to ResourceSpace as a new resource, keeping things up to date, and helping make sure everything’s saved securely.
